The 2019-2020 Seasonal Flu Vaccine

IGO has the Seasonal Flu Vaccine available for our patients.

The CDC recommends vaccination for all people 6 months of age and older. Vaccination is especially important for people who are at a higher risk for severe influenza and for close contacts of children younger than 6 months.

Continuing Pertussis Outbreak Prompts Vaccination Recommendation

The California Department of Health is recommending that all contacts of young children be immunized due to the continuing increased risk of Pertussis exposure.

The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology recommends that pregnant patients, who are to be vaccinated, receive the immunization during their second or third trimester of pregnancy or after delivery before discharge from the hospital even if they are breastfeeding.

Are You Protected Against Measles?

The United States is currently experiencing the greatest number of reported cases of measles, also known as Rubeola, since the disease was eliminated in 2000. Women of reproductive age and those contemplating pregnancy should have a blood test to confirm they have immunity prior to pregnancy and receive the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine if they are non-immune.

New Reporting Guidelines for Mammography

Existing federal law requires a written report of the results of each mammogram and requires a summary of that report to be sent to the patient. As of April 1, 2013 the California Health and Safety Code has been amended adding a requirement that the written summary also include a prescribed notice on breast density.
