Out-Patient Surgical Procedure Suite

Located within IGO Medical Group is a fully-accredited out-patient surgical suite. Many outpatient procedures can be performed safely, efficiently, and comfortably in this suite which is fully accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC)

IGO patient representatives work with your insurance provider to obtain all insurance pre-authorizations for surgeries performed in the suite. A licensed Registered Nurse is available to provide conscious sedation in order to make the procedure a more comfortable and positive experience and she remains with the surgical patient to provide pre- and post-operative care.

The IGO physicians also perform surgeries at Scripps Memorial Hospital and Ximed Out-Patient Surgery Center and they would be happy to explain the differences between the various sites to all patients in need of a surgical procedure.

Procedures commonly performed in the IGO Surgical Procedure Suite include:

• Dilation and curettage (D & C)
• Hysteroscopy
• Removal of cervical and uterine polyps
• Endometrial ablation (Novasure)
• Minimally invasive tubal sterilization (Essure)
• LEEP (for precancerous cervical lesions)
• Vulvar biopsies and minor repairs
