The Essure Procedure: Essure is a permanent female sterilization procedure. It is performed without any incisions on the body. The treatment is minimally invasive and can be performed by any IGO physician in our office under local anesthesia or in the hospital. Essure does not contain any hormones and does not interfere with the menstrual cycle. Instead, coil inserts placed during the procedure work with your body to create a barrier that prevents sperm and egg from meeting. The Novasure Procedure: Treatment for heavy bleeding without hysterectomy or hormones. Novasure is a quick, safe, and simple endometrial ablation procedure. The treatment is minimally invasive and can be performed in our office by any of our physicians under local anesthesia or in the hospital. The treatment uses radiofrequency energy to remove or ablate the lining of the uterus. This effectively reduces or eliminates future bleeding.
