Private Lactation Instruction

Lactation instruction is an important part of the comprehensive perinatal care offered to our patients at IGO Medical Group by our two nurse practitioners.

Vanda Lops and Annie Navarra are strong advocates for infant-led breastfeeding. They have found that this method results in a more positive breastfeeding outcome for both mother and baby.

Typically this instruction occurs in a consultation visit on the third day following discharge from the hospital after delivery; however, new mothers are encouraged to call for an appointment at any time they feel the need.

At this visit all normal newborn and early postpartum issues can be discussed to ensure continuity of care throughout the postpartum period between birth and the six week visit.
