Routine colonoscopy is recommended at a minimum every 10 years after age 50. In order to facilitate this, IGO has an onsite gastroenterologist who can arrange the procedure for you at IGO or, if your insurance requires it, at other facilities.

Board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, Dr. Pratha has served at the University of California as a full-time faculty physician. Her research has been funded by the American Digestive Health Foundation, the American College of Gastroenterology and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. She has presented her finding as several meetings in the United States and Canada and is well recognized for her expertise in GERD, peptic ulcer disease, IBS, and IBD.

Dr. Pratha's clinical focus includes inflammatory bowel disease and she is the Chief Medical Officer of the local chapter of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.

Dr. Pratha is a member of the America Gastroenterological Association , the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. She received her medical degree from India and completed her clinical internal medicine training from Wayne State University in Michigan.. Her gastroenterology fellowship training was at University of California San Diego Medical Center
