Continuing Pertussis Outbreak Prompts Vaccination Recommendation

The California Department of Health is recommending that all contacts of young children be immunized due to the continuing increased risk of Pertussis exposure.

The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology recommends that pregnant patients, who are to be vaccinated, receive the immunization during their second or third trimester of pregnancy or after delivery before discharge from the hospital even if they are breastfeeding.

IGO has preservative-free vaccine available for our patients who have not yet received the vaccine. Family members who are not patients are encouraged to visit their primary care physician or a local clinic for immunization.

Please call 858-455-7520 to schedule an appointment for vaccination.
